Gulfstream V Record Flight Selected As One of the "Ten
Most Memorable Flights in 1997"

National Aeronautic Association Award Highlights Unique Capabilities of
Ultra-Long Range Gulfstream V

SAVANNAH, Ga.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 31, 1998-- Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation(NYSE:GAC - news) announced that the record flight of the Gulfstream V from Washington, D.C. to Dubai, United Arab Emirates on November 12, 1997 was recognized as one of the
''Ten Most Memorable Flights in 1997'' by the National Aeronautic Association (NAA). An awards ceremony was held at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C. last evening. The Gulfstream V -- the world's first ultra-long range business jet -- was chosen as the top record for ''Distance Without Landing'' from more than 150 records set in the United States in 1997.

On November 12, 1997, Gulfstream pilots Bob Ozbolt, Hank Gibson and Bob McKenney departed Dulles International Airport at 4:30 p.m. local time, carrying 41,000 pounds of fuel, seven passengers and a four-person crew. Gulfstream V s/n 502 cruised at a speed of Mach .83 and altitudes of up to 49,000 feet before landing with NationalBusiness Aviation Association Instrument Flight Rules fuel reserves at Dubai International Airport on November 13, at 2:11 p.m. local time. The 6,330 nautical mile flight took 12 hours and 40 minutes.

Capable of flying 6,500 nautical miles at speeds up to Mach .885, the Gulfstream V has set 47 world and national records for speed, altitude, distance and time to climb since entering service in
April 1997.

The Gulfstream V and the Gulfstream V Industry Team have also been awarded the 1997 Robert J. Collier Trophy by the NAA. Recognized as U.S. aviation's most prestigious award, the Collier
Trophy honors the year's top aeronautical achievement in the United States. Gulfstream and the Gulfstream V Industry Team were recognized specifically''for successful application of advanced design and efficient manufacturing technique, together with innovative international business partnerships, to place in customer service the Gulfstream V -- the world's first ultra-long range business jet.'' Past recipients includes Orville Wright, Chuck Yeager and the crew of Apollo 11. The Collier Trophy will be awarded at a ceremony on April 29, 1998 in Arlington, Virginia.
