I talked to a very reliable source today about QDEL. He told me the rumor about the VP leaving was false. I asked about employee turnover. He said QDEL uses a lot of temporary employees in production to keep the production/employee ratios in line. He said QDEL runs a very lean operation. Steve Frankel's departure hasn't effected the business, everyone is very busy. The joint venture projects are on track. He made references the problems QDEL is having is very similar to the problems another SD biotech went though in the early stages, before they became very successful. He thought, this was a great time to own QDEL. He said the board decided to make management changes because they felt the stock has under performed in the market for what QDEL has accomplished. Overall he was very upbeat about the company. It made me feel a little better to know that all is well at QDEL and the board is working to enhance shareholders value.
