<<OT>> Just Doubled My Portfolio Holdings From...
two and a half shares to five. Actually, to be honest, I didn't really buy these shares... per se. These were gratuities of a sort, left me by customers of our local organ bank. Okay, so damn it, I may not have a lot. But, these five SEEK shares mean a lot to me. Admittedly, they've been meaning less to me these past few days. Still, though, I have my hopes.
In a way this SEEK-filled portfolio of mine is a bit of a burden to me. I feel the weight of allegiance to many friends and acquaintances who have similar holdings in this fine company. I feel that, somehow, some fine morning, if I were to wake up and say to myself, "Hang it all, friend, sell your SEEK and get two meals in a row", that such a move might rattle the very foundations of the markets. In fact, might even, to coin a phrase, mess with market dynamics. The mere thought of which makes me shudder.
But, seriously, what would be the commission on selling over 7OO,OOO shares in one swell foop? Not a transaction that one would idly trust to my advisors, Kennel, Grooms, & Dipf.
Another non-descript SEEK day. And, to OO, I'm not going to speculate about a possible $.01 quarter... anymore, that is. As for earnings release date, your guess, friend is probably better than mine. I remain wholly positive about the future of the stock, though. IDC estimates that something like 27% of American households will be on the Web by year's end. Some of this, no doubt, fed by the lower price of entry afforded by very popular "under-grand" PC's. SEEK will announce "soon" its revised stocks area... with message boards and more. We'll know the Netscape resolution probably in less than three weeks. Berger Funds, from what a friend tells me, is still buying. Further, I am looking for more news releases about NewsReal and partners for that spin-off. In short, g-damn-it, my FIVE shares are well positioned.
Best Regards To All SEEK-Holders,
