Doug DeShong writes that EVERY FIRM manually checks orders entered by PC because "if there were no checks on your trades, any one of you could move the S&P."

I complained about this as regards 50% of the trades at e.Schwab.
Please explain to me why this check has to be MANUAL?

I have no argument with the trades being validated but I submit that the computers can not only do a faster job but a better job at this. People are slow and make mistakes. And accuracy and speed really matter. Automating the validation would not permit the scenario you suggest.
