Neil, I don't see how you can have a reversal, without a capitulation bottom, heavy volume, and people throwing in the towel. On the upside, I was reading this month's PC magazine, about INTC,DEC,and CPQ. It seems the believe the Alpha chip,is not only alive, and well, but maybe INTC future. The made gestures about gigahertz processing in 2 years, and INTC doubling the speed from 600 MHZ to 1.2 GHZ by then. They also stated that Alpha is not only saved, but enhanced, because INTC has manufacturing capability down to 0.18 microns. INTC is 2-3 years ahead of where DEC was in manufacturing. Also, they believe that what is about to happen,is INTC buying out CPQ,and forming a giant powerhouse, unlike any other. The Alpha, and ESDRAM may dominate the PC market by the then. Hiram |
