Mr. Cain:
Here is the poop - if you can, please forward this information to the members of the SI Chat Board:
I am a private investigator in Dallas, Texas. On Monday, 03/30/98, I was in Houston for business related to a wealthy East Coast Client. He contacted me while I was in Houston and asked me to locate the Vector that was rumored to be that area. My client is semi-interested in buying a car but it has to be black. I located the car in question at the British Royal Motor Cars, LTD dealership dealership at 14750 Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77079 (they sell Rolls, Bentley, and collectible vehicles). I entered the showroom and saw a beautiful light blue M-12 parked next to a black Bentley. I spent twenty minutes talking to the Rolls Royce Sales Manager (Michael Berray) about the vehicle and my clients interest in a black version. I was told the following information:
The vehicle in this showroom floor was Vector M-12 #9 with VIN #1V9MB1225W1048009 - The "009" at the end shows it is #9.
The manager explained this M-12 was used by Vector for the recent Mexico City Auto Show. Berray said this vehicle is #9 and that #10 has black exterior and red interior. This vehicle, current location unknown, was produced as a prototype for the a member of an Arabic Royal Family in Brunei. Apparently, this member of royalty only buys vehicles that are black with red interiors. This car was a prototype because Vector was suposed to build the prince a right hand drive version (please realize I have not personally verified this).
The manager also said #11 has an orange exterior and blue interior (yuck) and was custom built for a Florida Gators fan.
Berray said the Vector at Sebring came in sixth place in one of the categories but I do not recall which one. Apparently the rear wing broke, or collapsed, and the aerodynamics were chaged for the better. I did not explore the cars appearance in this race any further.
Berray said he could have a custom build M-12 delivered in around 14 weeks straight from the factory, full payment due up front.
Berray said Vector, under the new managment, is now prepared to produce and market these vehicles on a serious basis. Berray provided me with a copy of the M-12 sales booklet and performance data sheet. I am forwarding the sales booklet, which is very nice and professional, to my client but I was given two copies of the performance data sheet. I am keeping one and forwarding the other to my client.
Berray allowed me to closely inspect the vehicle and sit inside. The interior was very tight. Entry was difficult, at best, and I do not recommend taking this car on a date. The footwells were small and I only had room for pressing the pedals but then again this car was designed for performance. I must admit I was very impressed with the vehicle and the Lamborghini engine. The paint was beautiful, even though it was not my color of choice The doors opened smooth and closed tight with a solid sound.
I am purchasing 5k more shares just because I sat in the M-12 and from the positive word from Berray. I just hope my client purchases one so I can drive it one day.
Please forward any of this data you feel is worthy to the SI chat room. Berray can be reached for verification of this M-12's existence at: 800-725-1122
Berray DID NOT verify a price but suggested the blue M-12 could go for $225,000.00 (give or take).
Please respond with any comments.
