Mohan, Hello. I think of Odyssey as just a little one and haven't really paid much attention to it. It is also CDMA based and suppose will work okay. But I like the full scale, worldwide, low earth orbit system of Globalstar, which seems to me to be the best design by far.

Teledesic is the biggie of course, but will be focussed on data primarily. And is some time off. Globalstar should get high market share initially and be able to just continue to increase as demand increases as more people around the world become able to afford such services.

I think Odyssey is a bit further behind - not even sure they have financing which they need to have all lined up to get spectrum.

Odyssey should be ready to sell service early 1998 and I don't know of much wrong with it. But at 10000 km altitude, it is pretty far away compared with Globalstar and Iridium at only 1400 and 800 km altitudes respectively, so handsets will have to put out more power to get their signal received. There will also be more voice delay than with the low satellites. But they can get service up and running at lowish cost. I think consumers will go for quality of service and battery life. So Globalstar seems to me to be the one worth backing.
