BTW, what did I win? <ggg> Actually, I hope you're the real winner.
The first, second, and third rows I used a string line. The fourth row I've just been eye-balling. (I've not got the third row trench dug yet, though). I've been using a level and just looking at the row to make sure it is relatively straight. I'm thinking I might re-do the first row I set. It is leaning in places, and I also had to step it quite a bit so I wouldn't have to dig real deep when I got to the high end.
I'm thinking when I finally get all the blocks laid (I'm only laying one row. Have you seen what block costs now-a-days?!!), I'll lay the chicken wire fencing under the block, then fill each one about half way with concrete. Of course, I'll need to get my framing materials and figure out there placement before I do any filling. I'm counting on the block filled with concrete to hold the posts which will support the primary points from which I'll construct the entire fence.
I've not really got it all set in my mind as to how I'll get from point A to point B sort of speak, but I think it will come together once I start concentrating on it more.
Spring is really looking nice this year. The wild peach trees are in full bloom with a lavendar, pink color, and the grass has that tender and rich green color. I love driving around this time of year when the trees aren't yet leafed out and look out at the hills covered with a velvety green. It is almost story book.
Am hoping we'll not get any late freezes this year. All of our lilac bushes will bloom this year, and they're all loaded. We've got three different colors: purple, white, and french (a softer purple color). The white ones are really fragrant. I just love the scent.
So what or who is "duke"?
Out of here for the evening. Catch ya later.
Stay well, |
