Paul,

<People are PRAYING that the AMD rumors of improved yields are true.

And what if they are not true, or not "completely" true? >

I agree. Two things must come out of the AMD cc. 1) statement that yields have *SIGNIFICANTLY* improved and 2) a deal with a tier 1 OEM in the works for the .25 266 part. Anything less, will be a problem. Who knows, they may be in good shape. We will know soon enough.

<If Intel gets real aggressive and drives the Celeron price down quickly to $100, the top of the line K6 will go there as well.>

IMO, the Celeron will be AMD's worst nightmare. The chip is intended to be *THE* chip of choice for the no frills, *PRICE* conscience basic PC buyer. The significance is that up to now Intel has been forced to *PUSH* ASP down. With the Celeron, it will begin to *PULL* ASP's down and AMD along with it, and hopefully for Intel, preserve the middle and upper price range.
