Just freethinking here on a deep subject, this online phenomenon, the chat line bulletin board. It's perhaps inevitable that narcissism and stock speculation should go together, online investing/trading being such a personal, solopsistic endeavor. Thus,"Jane at the beach," etc, the teasing, the perfume of the dangerous and intoxicating blend of money and eros. And the twenty-somethings working out their social thing, their tedious conflicts, namecalling, suspicions, intrigues. I wish that I was David Mamet or some other sharp critic of the culture. The play is there, the book and the movie. But it is all just passing show, and I am not David Mamet. I am trying to make money. I have a life, real people with whom I interact, and no need or desire to look good, smart, sexy, whatever, here (although I like to crack wise at times). So can we please keep on track here? If you want juvenile tete a tete, try out yahoo chat, it's loaded with such. |
