Albert,
I saw a lot of companies buying other companies' stocks from open-market with high price to acquire big % security equity. For example, Korea's Samsung bought ASTA shares at high price of $22 (real stock price was below $14) each from open-market to acquire 40.25% in March, 1995. I think most probably AMD will sell security equity and already had a deal with other companies (IBM, NEC, or MOT). I don't think AMD is going to sell equity of business. We will see the good news coming soon.

Best wishes

James
