Tony,

It appears that you lost your sense of humor after the news of improved AMD yields and the rumors of the Intel Pinto Celeron.

The news story was an April's Fools day joke.

To make a long story short, you don't purchase chips of any sort from a company which is experiencing yield problems currently, or in the recent past. That would include AMD right now. YOU SHOULD NOT PURCHASE AN AMD CHIP FOR AT LEAST ONE YEAR AFTER IT APPEARS THAT THEY HAVE CLEARED UP A YIELD PROBLEM.

What exactly are you talking about? Why should I care about overall yield when buying a chip? Obviously the supplier yielded the chip I am about to buy.

As a consumer, why should I care if the supplier is making money on the chip or losing money?

Joe

PS: Relax!
