<<What are the Harvard studies focused on?>>
The Harvard study is the true study setup to evaluate the possible correlation of both Redux and phen-fen with heart valve problems. The study will evaluate a greater gamut of users, including those on longer duration therapies, and should probably enlight on further parameters of valvular disorder/disease. It is set up with 400 Redux, 400 phen-fen and 400 controls, and likely carries a great variance of users based on both dosages and durations.
The study just released was the results of a halted study meant for the development of a once a day Redux tablet which was halted when the recall occurred. But since the patients were there, and still double-blinded, they restructured the study into an echocardiogram study on this patient population because it was already there. It was not intented to review the impact of short-term Redux use, it is just that short term usage of 77 days average was what they had when the study was halted.
