Ed, "if AMD said the yield has improved, then it is improved" I do not recall AMD ever publicly announcing yield improvement. "[K6's] yield loss can be caused by defects of the process or a design margin issue" What is your take? "[based on yield] as high as 80% with 150 gross dies... cost per die can be as low as $8.3" You are estimating $1,000 cost per wafer. The consensus here at SI is much higher than that. Can you support your figure? John.
