Pinky's Tailing Box: a weekly Wednesday feature of At a Bottom Now For Gold.

Dear ABNFG:

I started investing in gold last October. Lately I've fallen to the temptation of gradually selling off my remaining blue chips and putting everything into PMs. My portfolio is down 10% in value so far, but I still can't bring myself to stop buying more physical. I find myself preaching gold to everyone I know. I just can't bring myself to trust the dollar anymore. I know I have a problem but am unable to deal with it. Please help--everything I own is turning into gold! --PMs Abuser

Dear Metals Abuser:

You need to begin attending your local chapter meetings of Alchemists Anonymous immediately. --Whirlwind

Dear White Metals Tornado:
What has been your best investment move? --Curious Georgiana

Dear CG:

Selling all of my nuclear utility stock three weeks before the Chernobyl disaster. --Whirlwind

Dear Pinky's Tailing Box:

I bought a little of everything off of your last two sheets of penny stock recommendations and everything is down. What should I do? --Reckless Abandon

Dear Reckless Abandon:

Abandon recklessness and avoid Pinky's sheets. --Whirlwind

Dear At A Bottom Now For Gold:

My gold stocks lost half their value--should I average down? --Down and out in Peoria

Dear Down and out:

No. Wait till they turn around and then average up. --Whirlwind

Dear Bag of Wind:
I accumulated silver on your recommendation at its $7.50 peak. You're an idiot! --Disgusted

Dear Disgusted: You bought at $7.50? Who's the idiot? --Whirlwind

Dear Gusto:

I waited for silver to drop back into the $5.60's like you said it might and dived in for more on the 19th and look what it did on the 20th! Thanks for the tip! --Warren B.

Dear Warren:

As long as I keep my hoard off the market, the current price should hold. With the fishing season nearing, you should see steadily rising prices again as the markets begin discounting the silver I'll be melting down for fishing jigs. --Whirlwind

Dear Pinky's Tailing Box:

What Mutual Fund do you currently recommend? --Underinvested Investor

Dear Underinvested:

I favor the only one that is more interested in the return OF your capital than ON your capital: the Re Fund.

Dear Whirlwind:

I just picked up 10K of Zappa. What do you think?
P.S. Sorry about the black crayon--they don't let us use anything sharp here. --Clay Z.

Dear Clay:

Let's hope our Zappa moves, but in case it doesn't I'm sending you a box of crayolas with the full range of colors to brighten your life--you may be needing it. By the way, they allow me to use pens and pencils here (but only if an attendant is present in the room). --Whirlwind

Do you have gold or PMs? Got questions about 'em? e-mail the Whirlwind at:

(That's a real e-address, trust me.)
