CNNfn.com to offer industry-specific business news
NEW YORK, March 31 (Reuters) - Internet news service CNNfn.com will launch on Wednesday a
new Web-based service that will provide access to news and market information sorted and
arranged by business industry. Called CNNfn IndustryWatch and developed in partnership with Internet technology company
NewsReal Inc, the service will allow users to select an industry and get headlines, articles and
executive summaries from sources like wire services, regional newspapers, trade magazines and
newsletters.
In addition, CNNfn IndustryWatch will use NewsReal's ''multi-linking'' capabilities, which can be
used to choose links like company home pages, overviews, financial profiles, stock quotes and
charts, as well as press announcements.
CNNfn.com is the Internet companion site to CNNfn, the financial network owned by Time Warner
Inc (TWX - news).
NewsReal Inc, based in Alexandria, Va., was spun-off from Infoseek Corp (SEEK - news) in
January. Infoseek retained a minority stake in the company, which also has received financial backing
from Soros Fund Management. |
