Apparel Technologies, Inc. Receives Series of Production Orders From US Boys Business Wire - April 01, 1998 11:08
COMMERCE, CALIFORNIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 1, 1998-- Reports strong production and sample
activity from Junior apparel customers
APPAREL TECHNOLOGIES, INC. (NASDAQ:APTX), a pioneer in the development and application of digital printing technology for the sewn products and home furnishings industries, reported today that it has received a series of production orders from US Boys, a major Junior apparel customer. APTX reported that this reflects the strong responses for digital design, production and sampling from customers it is receiving in the Junior apparel industry.
In addition to the production orders received from US Boys, recent orders received by APTX include sample orders from Junior and Young Contemporary customers such as Paris Blues, Rad Clothing and Showmart.
APTX's digitally integrated design-to-production process is well suited to the needs of the highly competitive Junior apparel arena, which is driven by quick response to fashion trends and rapid turnover of inventory. "In the competitive Junior arena, 'quick turn' and immediate reaction to a trend means the difference between a best seller and a markdown, making our services very attractive to the Junior customer," said Kathryn Van Ness, the Company's President and Chief Executive Officer.
Ms. Van Ness also noted: "APTX's capabilities in this area go well beyond our ability to achieve apparel production in a matter of days. The services we provide range from original design capabilities and product development, to production of finished garments. We believe that the integration of design and production expertise provides an extremely valuable competitive edge to our customers."
Through proprietary digital technology APTX's customers have the ability to respond quickly to consumer demand by bringing new product to market in a matter of days, and to economically produce small as well as large production runs, ultimately reducing inventory writedowns and returns.
