The SH core announcement was about someone else licensing the core. It's not news that VLSI also licenses this core. VLSI has licensed the core for a number of months, just as it licenses ARM cores or
DSP cores. VLSI just happened to be mentioned in the announcement as already being a licensee to show who is using this particular core.

What is news is that as acceptance for a given core increases, designs using that core are easier to win because different customers get used to using it.

As for the stock price right now, I'm waiting to see the reaction to the 1st quarter results to be announced later this month. We know from previous announcements that they will be comparatively bad for the near term (compared with Q4 and even Q1 of last year) but that longer term the outlook is supposed to be strong (towards Q3, Q4). Does the current price show that all of the "bad" news has already been digested, or is it holding until the announcement to decide what to do?
