Richard,

<<then are the silver producers the "big" producers?>>

According to the silver institute, primary silver producers account for about 17% of silver production ... the rest is a by-product of copper, zinc and to a lesser extent gold.

<<I notice my silver issue(one of the larger silver plays) also produces gold. does this muddy the water, or clear things up?>>

They will get a gold credit .... it boils down to which of the metals they are primarily after, and which is a nice little bonus.

FSR produces a very small amount of gold - but they are very much a primary producer of silver. PAA is primarily a silver company - but they are moving into gold too as a primary metal in some of their mines/exploration.

The Silver Institute has a good overview at:

All the best,
