My suspicion would be that this could create a real boondoggle for the FDA if they did approve quickly. Since there is a way to quantitatively prove the efficacy of a new drug by data the call for fast track on the criteria you spell out seems reasonable. To add to that equation a 'simplicity' factor seems to be opening things up for a bureaucratic mess. But it's a mess I would not mind seeing. Jim
