I have no desire to lower the SNR of this group but this may be
of interest to those asking about brokers. Feel free to hit <Next>.

I used to use TD Greenline a long time ago but they seemed to want
to nickle and dime me for everything. Investorline was just starting
up and offering $25 min trading fees and no fees for quote service
compared to TDs $45 min fee and 25c a quote over some minimum.
No doubt TD has changed over the years but since I bank with B of M
it makes funds transfers a lot easier. Also my internet access is
ADSL (read 1.6Mbps down/960Kbps up dedicated) which would make it
a real pain to "dial in" to Greenline.

As I felt a coal raking coming for my suggestion, I sent email
to investorline and received the following prompt response:

The best time frame i have right now is sometime this summer we expect
that to take effect.

Thank you for suggesting InvestorLine at your forum, we do appreciate
it. Please be assured that we are continually striving for excellence
in both the products and services that we provide our clients.
We are committed to having a top-notch website and are allocating a

I definitely would like realtime access to my trades now but
I can always enter the trade on the web and then phone their
1-800 number to get the realtime status. This way I still get
the online trading discounts. They haven't dropped
the ball on me yet but I do know that there is an inactivity
timeout on your sign-on.
