What I meant is that some shorts really aren't giving info; just giving their opinions, over and over. I don't see much point in arguing with an opinion or getting involved in silly fighting with people who are just enjoying getting others angry. That sort is mindless and just want to irritate. One of them, someone I've never addressed or spoken about, eric siegel, sent me an email just saying "you are a loser." It seems like people like that aren't worth the time of day, and that there's no advantage in arguing with them. These are like very young children, trying to cause a fuss. I would distinguish them from the more thoughtful shorts, like my pal, van.
Anyway, even if you don't agree with this, we agree that free memberships are not the problem. I object to a "class" attitude, of paying versus free memberships. I think many of the jerks here are paying members and many of the wiser contributors are free members. All memberships on SI were permanently free till fairly recently.
Apple's getting a lot of good attention from the press and the stock has performed very well, so the shorts are getting SCARED, and that is why they are flocking to our thread to try to make a fuss. It's a great contrarian sign to have them showing up here, talking about how Apple stock is going to ZERO, while it's sitting very near its high.
