Alan, First, Thanks for the thread. I stumbled across some info. about this stock in the aen, wbrtv, site, in the wee hours last night, and being a George Gilder fan, was instantly mesmerized. Finding your thread made fun reading. Having read this thread, I find it's not unusual. Some folks won't invest in this as there are missing facts- and bother to say it's therefore stupid to do so- yeah, forgone conclusions abound, we know this, don't we? However, Finding no credible evidence of a scam or hyped claims, and having been looking for this one ever since reading a certain issue of the Gilder Tech Report(no meme wasn't mentioned(I dont' think?), merely the possibility of someone doing this), I decided to invest this morning. Managed to get 1.25 on a limit order(took 15 minutes). Someone who mentioned Gilder earlier in this thread- please correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the operating Frequencies involved here the very ones that were auctioned off some years ago by the FCC for Wireless cable- which have gone largely unused? If I'm not mistaken, I've EVERY reason to believe the stated speed of the "modems" offered here- AND the future potential speeds envisioned by MEME. And the noncable T.V. on demand. Bottom line is that if this works as it apparantly is, then both six months ago- and today, there is apparantly no one else I'm aware of standing ready to enter this forgotten market. Yes, they MAY arrive, but only after(I cannot doubt) MEME becomes profitible by the second Q '98, and offers the only proven system for these services- to the holders of the rights to these frequencies all around the country! Imagining they can be profitable, while operating only in the initial start up areas where they presumably own the frequency rights themselves right now, bodes well for the notion that here, quite possibly, is an incredible cash cow business. Especially when, as I believe I recall, the percieved value of the frequency rights involved has fallen dramatically from what the FCC stole for them. In a world of doubters, here's a "blind pig" that just might reap a giant load of acorns! Sometimes the DD is not in the details, but in the big picture some are just as yet blind to see. Here's hoping this is the puppy. Don't let me get carried away...sorry...my chickens haven't hatched yet after all- 25% for the day or not! Thanks again though, I love being here for better or worse. |
