Brad,
Well, I'm not hiding behind any mask so I say this in a bright light. My post may surprise you a bit but here goes.
This isn't a football game and there were as many (or more) people who hated Lombardi as there were people who admired him. Even his compassion was, more than naught, laden with arrogant motives. Lombardi had more mood swings than the YWCA during a full moon and this seems to be the same disposition of DCTC.
For the record, I don't believe blind faith in any form is a healthy way to go about things. I'm all for giving a person credit for their past performance and vision of the future. However, this is a public company and the stock is floundering in spite of the many positives alluded to by Mr. Murphy.
There is nothing wrong in hard questioning to why this is happening and taking Mr. Murphy to task in asking for answers. This isn't a sign of weakness, loss of faith, or any other militarized rhetoric that tries to subdue legitimate dissension. It's healthy to question and more than called for at the moment. Personally, I'm down nearly 40% on my investment and the only "wave" I see right now is the one of good-bye my money is giving me. I'm still long Brad, but I'm uneasy right now.
I think it's wrong to castigate investors for getting a bit upset at times like this. Anyone who says not to be emotional about their investment is either a Vulcan or has had their humanity surgically removed. In truth, Michael's post disturbed me and I think a few of us here could use just a bit more light at the moment.
I know that you're directing your comments at the masked idiots who have shown up here lately. Still, there is an uncomfortable, ambient tendency here to frown at anyone who gets anything more than tepidly questioning with Joe Murphy.
Please know, my intent is not to cast any shadows at yours or Joe Murphy's character and I'm not trying to start an argument with you here. If you take my comments as confrontational in any negative sense, I'm sorry for that but I'm sincere within the context of what I've written. To imply for people to leave just because they voice legitimate concerns is no answer to anything.
One mark of a true leader is how visible he is when things ARE dark. Anyone can be there to take bows. My personal feeling is Joe Murphy chose to start commenting here, so I believe he should continue to do so all the way down or all the way to the stars. We're all busy. Joe taking 20 minutes out of his day to answer a few questions will hardly upset the corporate apple cart. Since you admire Mr. Lombardi's often sage philosophies of "follow through", I would think you'd agree with this.
In the interim I'll reserve my perpetual admiration for people like Dr.'s Jonas Salk, Charles Drew, and Bruce Reitz.
JMHO
I hope we're still friends. >:-)
