I saw Kiss Me Guido last night and it was very good. Everything I wish In and Out had been. In and Out would have been a good movie had they stuck with the incredibly funny premise of a straight, but "neat" man, being outed. Instead, they had to turn it into a statement movie. Yuch. In Kiss Me Guido there are no heavy handed statements, and yet it makes its point much more soundly than did In and Out. Tonight I rented Female Perversions I'll let you know how it is. And we saw Bean yesterday. We love the Bean shows from Britain, but somehow when they moved him from Britain they left part of his zaniness behind. This may partly be due to the fact that he is funnier against a backdrop of stiff upper lip Britains than he is surrounded by Americans who tend to be a weird lot already- so Bean does not stick out in quite the same way. Anyway, I enjoyed it just because I would watch Bean in anything, but my kids (who love the British version) wandered away and lost interest. I rented The Fairies for the kids today. I hope they like it better than Bean.
