Brendan, anyone can buy a floppy drive for about $25. That price has
got to include at least $7-10 profit for the store and about the same
for the manufacturer. So what does it cost to make. My guess $7.
So what is in a Zip drive, the same stuff, but a fancier head, a
zippier motor, and more chip controls, all this stuff gets real cheap
in quantity. My guess is they can make a Zip drive for about $10 to
$15 bucks, and the disks are only a smigeon fancier than a floppy.
The superreflector, 2 cents, 4 screws instead of heat sealed, 8 cents
more, and so on. The final guess, 45 cents per Zip disk.
So why not. Greed is the whole answer here. When forced, the price
will drop and the standard will be set... Zip/Clik, a beautiful pair.

Hey, as long as everyone else is having fun with Rock the Clockhead
today, why hasn't anyone mentioned his AOL short position. Up another
three points and he is now about 20% in the hole. With his 20 share
short (he bought before the split) he has lost about $20. That means
he has to go without lunch this week, and his buddies at the ROXY
will be very curious about all this talk of Rocky with his pants down.
Maybe he can get his next job there.
