The belief that the economy in Japan sucks may have something to do with it. Also consider that the Government in Japan made a strong effort to pump up market prices through the end of their fiscal year (March 31) so that domestic banks could show better balance sheets, meet capital adequacy requirements, etc. Well, we're into April now, and the government has taken its pump and gone home.
