Just bought a DHT...

My 2 cents...

...took me an hour to set it up....
RATHER DICEY (learning some new skills)

This is unqualified the best picture I have ever seen on a rear projection set...

three reasons...I tweeked the fine tuning yes the picture can be turned upside down or rightside up with the press of a button...

1. the color is more even than any Hitachi or Sony I have seen
2. The brightness is in a whole other category
3. and best of all you don't have to align your chair to be "centered "so that you can even SEE the picture...

Ambient light?
no problem ...very well lighted room...most rear projection sets
would fade...

The digital control of the picture makes all similarly colored segments of the picture equal in color and value from one side to the
other...A LOT of sets don't hold proper color values throughout the picture...and if you change channels mostly
the tint wavers on flesh tone on different channels...

I found VERY little of that...

There are some tube sets even some with built in line doublers that have extroardinary pictures...

The problem is people want a tv that is BIG...and when they gewt the bigger set they take a step down in quality...

Even when flooded with excess color the picture holds its value...

I hope they resolve production problems because this is better than anything on the market...

Having a sixty inch set with a high brightness picture ...even color... and 180 degree viewing angles is such a remarkable experience
because the picture is BIG and GOOD...

Line doubler is good ...did not use comb filter because did not like it...

The size of the projector threw me it is huge (a lot bigger than pictures) Then antennae/cable inputs I found amusing because litterally
antennae means 13 channels and cable is a full tuner ...had never seen trhat before...

Figuring how to lock in the lenses was a sticking point for a few minutes but now I could do it blindfolded...

There are 2 docking stations ...1 in the base unit...and one that can be snapped in or out with the projector for front projection...

Directions are good...One big page...
Remote lights up ...nice and is universal...
Projector is heavy to load in docking station but with twoi hands no problem...

All in all an amazing experience...
All I know about the company did nothing to prepare me for what I saw...

Again I see several hundred rear projection sets per year...

And this breaks NEW GROUND...

I would like to see the price come down to 6-7k...
People who want this kind of performance will shell out the dollars...

when this level of quality gets out people will be buying these sets...

It is clearly next generation...

Dont want to over post so I will say as a consumer It was fun setting this up...kind of like building a tv...and the quality was BETTER
than I expected...

I am a stockholder as well and can now say I hope they iron out the problems because this is a well thought out product
that delivers....
