Richard, You're pretty much right on in your analysis. The product GVIL is holding out on is surely the "New York" which has been in development over 2 years. I cannot see how it can have a market against established products from Ascend, 3Com/USR, and Lucent's Livingstone, and "The Borg" (Cisco). It remains conceivable that one of those might still buy GVIL for a song -- they've all bought tiny players before. Or it may be that BOCI simply didn't want the product. Or, my guess, that BOCI felt it had to leave GVIL's management a bone to allow them to keep their jobs awhile.

We should have sold it all when Jim Walker quit and went to Diamond/Supra. CFOs quitting are a bad sign. Bad Bad Bad Sign. CFOs quitting and going to the competitor are even worse signs. I posted here that I would dump out of the stock if the December earnings were lousy and that's what I did.

Some folks here and on Yahoo are talking lawsuit. While they could conceivably have a cause of action, I doubt it. The rumors came from Yahoo, not from GVIL. And what would a suit bring? By the time it got anyplace, the company would be so far into chapter 11 it couldn't matter anymore.

My only tech stock now is a small position in HWP. So much for fishing for minnows, I've hooked a whale.
