-- Chase Manhattan Corp. (CMB - news) is in talks to buy Morgan Stanley Dean Witter & Co.'s (MWD - news) custody and clearing businesses for over $600 million, the Wall Street Journal reported. Chase closed at 134-7/8. Morgan Stanley closed at 72-5/8. Will this do something good for my MER puts today, since they were run up on the hype of a proposed merger with CMB?
