Carol--you have more patience than I. My sister is also on her third marriage and it's rocky. She is just like your friend--comes crying to be heard, does not take advice, then defends--just like you said. She also is at the doctor constantly. Maybe she gets gratification from a third party that gets paid to hear her woes. For me-- the job doesn't pay enough.
