Notebook OEMs are required to provide ACPI support as of April 1 and PC 98 support by July 1 to comply with Microsoft's design requirements.
SystemSoft provides support for both the new Mobile Pentium II and Pentium processor with the same BIOS, allowing notebook vendors to easily migrate to - and reduce time-to-market for - Mobile Pentium II-based systems. SystemSoft's BIOS also supports the Intel Pentium II processor microcode update function. During the SystemSoft BIOS software's Power On Self Test (POST), the Mobile Pentium II processor can upload encrypted microcode contained in the BIOS. SystemSoft's support of this function enables quick and easy updates to the new Intel processor.
