First: he wasn't Jones's "boss".

False. He was at the head of her place of employment.

She was an anonymous underling whom he'd never met.

Thought you said he wasn't her boss? Unless underling has a different meaning of which I'm not aware.

He liked her looks (God knows why) and sent a trooper to tell her she was attractive and to suggest an appointment in the hotel room.

This is setting up a "date", not a "business meeting". All caveats apply.

"...Plaintiff states that Ferguson later reappeared at the registration desk, delivered a piece of paper to her with a four-digit number written on it, and said that the governor would like to meet with her in this suite number. ... She states that she, Blackard, and Ferguson talked about what the governor could want and that Ferguson stated, among other things, ''We do this all the time.'' ... Thinking that it was an honor to be asked to meet the governor and that it might lead to an enhanced employment opportunity, plaintiff states that she agreed to the meeting and that Ferguson escorted her to the floor of the hotel upon which the governor's suite was located." -- search.washingtonpost.com

Nothing mentioned to Paula about how she looked and no indication it was a date.

Second: this stuff has nothing to do with feminism. Feminism has to do with empowering women, not with turning them into Victorian swooning maidens, gasping for the smelling salts.

You've come a long way baby. ;) I assume that it was the goal of feminists everywhere to make it readily apparent to all that it is perfectly reasonable and legal to grope a women until she cries uncle.
