Wiley, I hate Wells' investment arm, as they are passive investors and I think active investing is the way to do it. But it is a halfway decent bank and they are not big in derivatives. I wouldn't buy it without a takeover story, but I think their strong consumer branch system could be attractive to somebody. BTW, I bank at Wells Fargo, not that that should cause any conflict of interest. When I opened the account, it was Commonwealth Savings, which went belly-up and was taken over by First Interworst. Wells bought out First Interworst. So, it's not like they were my first choice. -g- MB
