Don't know why it was up the other day, or yesterday, but I agree, it seems just to be a value play along with rising on the tide of other equipment stocks. Still, with all the pressure to report a good quarter, they did really well.
Saw Cognex is up nicely today. The spread on ESIO is now 1/16th which is amazing, but the last trade I saw still managed to split the spread. Who would bother for 500 shares? Seems like we should end the day up if there is any justice.
I ran across this story and remembered patent suits from General Scanning against ESI. Do you know if there are any suits still pending, and if this could be related to ESI?
The U.S. District Court for the Central District of California has allowed Robotic Vision Systems, Inc. (RVSI) to add General Scanning to its current patent suit against View Engineering, Inc., alleging that General Scanning, as View's parent company, as well as View Engineering, may be liable. In October of 1995, RVSI filed a complaint for patent infringement against View. A trial date has been set for Aug. 3. |
