Scangraphics Unit, Tangent Imaging Systems Announces Partnership with Shacoh-UK One of Europe's Premier Distributors
LIMERICK, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 2, 1998--Tangent Imaging Systems(TM), a division of Scangraphics(R) Inc., (NASDAQ: SCNG), a world leader in large format scanning hardware and imaging software, proudly announces the completion of a distribution agreement with Shacoh-UK located in Daventry, England.
This business partnership makes Shacoh-UK the exclusive distributor of Tangent Imaging Systems color scanners and proprietary software for the United Kingdom and gives them access to selected regions within Europe and the Middle East. As part of the distributor agreement, Shacoh-UK has made an initial commitment to purchase in excess of $500,000 of Tangent scanning systems during 1998.
The addition of Shacoh-UK to Tangent's international reseller team fulfills part of Tangent's 1998 Business Plan to establish a premier European business partner network. This business objective was implemented in response to the $2.2 million of Tangent products sold into the European market during 1997. This was a record revenue year for Tangent's European sales segment.
Shacoh-UK chose to pursue a distribution agreement with Tangent after a thorough evaluation of Tangent's large format color scanning solutions. The positive feedback Shacoh-UK received from the evaluation, when combined with the demand for a high-quality color scanning solution from their client base, made Tangent Imaging Systems the most attractive addition to their line of large format products and solutions.
