*AV*--The "Boi factor" would indicate that when you sell, it's time to buy<GGGG>. I couldn't resist, boi. I think CYMI might trade in a very tight range that might not account for more than a 5% to 10% potential on short term trades. I am content to hold for the mid and long term and not play this one so close to the vest. However, your comments are right on the mark. You probably can count on CYMI for a good series of 5% daytrades.
BTW-I received private email concerning "slacking off" on this thread since my verbose posts seem to be coming more infrequently. So, let it be known that I am not intentionally cutting back on posting here. As far as I am concerned we are experiencing a slight lull in the areas that I follow. Even the recent run up has been addressed with purchases weeks and weeks ago and the ships finally came in. Another timing issue. Anyway, the following was a more long winded response to that private email message.
I really haven't intentionally cut down on my posting to the Stock Swap Thread. We are going through a slight lull in the market and I am just updating stuff that is of importance.
What I mean to say is that the Disk Drive Sector is flat so talking about it now is not prudent. When I see things pick up, we will rally the troops. The Tech sector stocks have been mentioned before and were set up for purchases over a month ago and we are now seeing some of them perform. The roller coaster stocks that you see me talk about have settled down once again. Take ASYT for instance. It is swinging between 21/22 to 25/27 much more slowly.
I have decided to refrain from talking about non tech or software stocks since my batting average is suffering (BYDS, GTIS and IMES). Finally, I have gone a little overboard in trying to help people rush to make fast profits or force profits at the inappropriate time. Most of this has to do with timing of the market so I am looking more mid term in my focus now. "You gotta know when to hold em and you gotta knopw when to fold them". However, you also have to know "when to shuffle the deck for a new deal and when to take a potty break"<GG> These past few weeks seemed like a great time to take a slight coffee break and not constantly pound you with the bullish view of the tech sector.
CYMI is a winner in my book and it has been mentioned. Taking it from roughly 20 to 24 is a nice 20% gain for this quarter. What I would encourage you to do is to keep an eye on the "Stock SWAP List" thread where I am showing most of my trades for a specific portfolio in addition to this particular thread.
Previously I have previously posted that I was moving stuff into some safer havens temporarily until this sector starts moving again along with making some speculative plays. I am reluctant to discuss these companies on the open thread since they are out of my field of expertise.
But if you are interested, the following is a list of things I am dabbling in until I see a clear direction in the tech sector. I am very close to zero margin in all accounts and have cash on the side in other accounts waiting for an opportunity. The following stocks are being played with more than investing for a home run.
WCII-RIBI-NCDI-FTEL-ATIS-SWY-LISB-AJX-PWJ-LIL-KPG-ORAL-PEN-BUS-BNTI- JBIL-AGCR-NPRO-MRV-CIG
BTW-as it turns out (in regards to my AMD comments), the analysts have also stated that they expected yields are improving at AMD and that there is possibly someone out there that wants to take a 25% stake in the company. Therefore, it does not upset me that you shared the information on the AMD thread. The information I provided proved to be solid and the end result yielded close to 7 or more points to the price of the stock, I believe. My memory is as selective as other people so I think we are talking 21/22 up to 29/30 for a real nice move here. I am glad some people were able to catch this train before it left the station. Another sleeper recently has been ATML which showed some real good movement.
I will try to be a little more visible on the thread from now on. It just gets tough when you get behind on certain things, especially trying to do income taxes.
