Must have been an idiot, since they have lost $725k overnight. Anybody should have known that the insider selling would hurt the price, and therefore demanded a large discount to the market price to buy such a large block.

There is only one group I know who could have done such a dumb thing. The shareholders of Nam Tai. Yes, if you own Nam Tai, you just overpaid the CEO by $725k for his shares. By selling yesterday, he does miss the dividend, so the shareholders save $40k, for a net cost of $665k or so.

Also, that purchase probably used up the rest of the authorized stock buyback, so that support for the stock is now gone.
