We have "the Slevin Indicator" and "the Boi Factor"...

I watch "the AV Meter". I first noticed it in January of '97, when AV posted that he was going to lighten up and take profits on his big tech portfolio. I mentioned at the time that it was very likely that money managers all over were going to do the same thing, therefore the market would be coming down. Bing-0. Feb-March last year was a stinker.

And it's happened again and again. Now, AV states that he's ""close to zero margin in all accounts and have cash on the side in other accounts waiting for an opportunity.""

Again, I'd take that as a bullish reference to tech money managers throughout the country. And perhaps that's why we're getting this current run up in techs just as the new quarter begins. Their cash levels are high, and they see opportunities resulting from the Asian Contagian.
