You have picked a really tough specialty to look into. You happen to be absolutely right and this is due mostly to the fact that the internet is like the old wild west as an industry in general. Heck, you have "webmasters" and ISP professionals out there that were delivering pizzas a week ago but saved up $99 to buy some webdev program. While there are a lot of really good companies out there, until some of the weaker ones fall out of the race (which they will over a relatively short period of time.) Check out PiGraphix, Inc. and their software at www.pigraphix,com. Take a look at thier client list also and thier recent news releases at www.hawkegroup.com under current clients.
