Y'know, Len is a real nice guy on the phone. He's as baffled by the bad attitude of these kids as I am. He used to be in the Army, and he said my letter caused a stir in the office. Now he's in contact with the chief of police on the matter. Len told me my letter possessed that valuable quality, "command emphasis". I get the feeling Len is the kind of guy with whom I wouldn't mind sharing a few cold ones.

That's one reason why my follow-up letter is less angry in its tone.
