Definition of collateral agreement in Websters dictionary: designating or of security given as a pledge for the fulfillment of an obligation;hence,secured or guaranteed by property,as stocks, bonds, etc.as,a collateral loan.anything such as stocks or bonds that secures or guarantees the discharge of an obligation; it is returned to the debtor when the obligation is fulfilled.
