In the Earthquake ( the Big One Feb 9, 1971) I was stationed at San Pedro, as you wel know. At six in the morning the bed was a shaken, the stovepipes, the windows on the second floor barricks of wood style ( is it a Condo Now-BTW?); got up fast ready to swing but I was first up and ...looked at the hanging 3 foot cord of the PX warehouse window nextdoor- on and swinging 3 foot span, so was the masts of all the sailboats over the Marina- same Marina they filmed the Minnow going out for a "Three Hour Cruise" ( I luv THAT song) and on the tops of the masts were a 2 foot spread between the bid and the ask on wave action that tilted the boats thru waves in that protected harbor ...toward my fenced in shore by the marina. They can cage us in but they can't keep us out. I was discharged 2 days later. Flew home, went to Fenway Park looked for a job. Was offered two jobs; one in Banking and one in Insurance. The insurance job paid $75 a YEAR more- money was dear, I took the Insurance Job. So I still went to ballgames but never had bankers hours - but if givben half a chance ...I want to hit the golfball off of the Green Monster, anyway.
So, the way I see it this is the story of Jaba for the short time of the last two years while they were building their base, with folks like us. Yes, it makes perfect sense to us, right. Right. The Lion awakes and smacks the ball. The Mammoth is always Woolly. But Mac Arthur will never return to San Pedro.( California) And Jaba will never be at this price level again, hold for my fin-way park your shares.
