NC is not a distraction. Network Computing is the vehicle for selling Oracle's server software everywhere. When Oracle's Network Computing Architecture (NCA) takes off, the demand for their server software will be immense. It will take Microsoft years to catch up in the NC server marketplace. MS is just now delivering database server functionality in SQL Server that Oracle has had since version 6. Gates can't set the price point (or give away) software that doesn't exist, although he sure will try. NCA will extend Oracle's dominance on the server side past the millennium.
