Great.
We are Christian, Muslim, Jew, Hindu, Buddhist, Bahai, Taoist, and many others either named or not named. Your salvation is experienced on one path, someone else's on another. To attempt to enforce, to impose ones path, or religion, on another would of course be wrong because it would be harmful to the other. History shows this.
Originally of course, Jesus did not show any interest in establishing a church or a religion. That came after, from others. Such was also the case with, for example, Siddhartha Gautama, who experienced and then shared through example and gentle teaching what the language in that part of the world called the Buddha. In another part of the world, Jesus did much the same thing, that is experienced and shared through example and gentle teaching that which through Greek and Latin was called the Christ. Jesus became so very identified with the Christ, as did Gautama with the Buddha that they were quite able to naturally demonstrate a life which we have learned to call miraculous.
One God, many cultures, many languages, many paths....really quite beautiful I think. Too bad, I also think, so much of this original beauty got so twisted through time as other forces impinged on it.
Thank you for the opportunity to share with you, Alan and others...
