Carole...I happen to agree with your assessment of E. Cawley's statement. I see it as just a clumsy attempt at making a positive statement. Just her manner of speech and nothing more. It's sort of like hearing somebody say they were going somewhere that you happened to be going also, and you might tell them, "I'll give you a lift because I was going there myself." That reply wouldn't mean that you had changed your mind and decided to stay, would it? Of course not! FWIW RW
