Volume and transactions NASDQ style
As I said I would I spoke to a top level NASDQ exe. today about trades and transactions, after cornering him on a few things I came away that He was very defensive about volume. He spoke to me as if I was some sort of NYSE exe.this is what I got:NASDQ, order entry, MM then sell (1 transaction) execution from the pending file, buy (1 transaction) the explanation is NYSE (DOT system) rout to the floor- no neog. one specialist on the floor does both buy/sell there bye reporting 1 transaction. NASDQ uses a rotating list of brokers which in turn neog. or auto. give the best price.I tried to get him to say the volume represent 2 transactions buy/sell order and he refused to do so saying that he is only concerned with transactions not volume.Well there you have it, if that 37mil on volume was on the NYSE it would have read 18.5 mil. NASDQ has a facility here in Trumbull CT. were they proccess all the activity and a back up one in Virgina. I was told today was a near record breaking day for NASDQ (close but no cigar) Well I hope this helps somebody cause it didn't me, I haven't seen him talk out of both sides of his mouth like that since he got married!!VBG> jimmyo looking for those other 18.5mil. buyers!
