Oil is right up there with food and shelter for me as a
necessity of life. To what extent can Asian countries
say, "we're not going to use oil anymore?" For their
long term development, do they really have a choice?

My friend just returned from a trip to mainland China.
He told me that the smell of burning oil was so pungent
particularly in places like Shanghai-it left an
impression on him.
