Most analysts are usually wrong - just notice that as a stock starts to rise, no one is aboard. As the stocks really starts to run, everyone upgrades to buy. Then boom - a bad eps number is released and the stock gaps down 25%, with many firms downgrading before the open. The stock then meanders for six months and then rallies back halfway and all the analysts raise back to buy. They therefore say buy at say $30, see the stock go to $40, say sell again at $30 and then say buy again at $35. Does this do any of us any good. Here's to $41 tomorrow (Tim - I believe your first guess).
