Here's an interesting story from the local business rag which should have extrapolated implications for LSI (which I own at 35 of all things... patience... patience):

amcity.com

"JVC America Inc. will add four production lines to its Laguna West plant in Elk Grove by August, nearly doubling its output of digital video discs and CD-ROMs. The company is hoping to cash in on the anticipated huge demand for DVD this Christmas. JVC's factory began producing discs last April with five production lines. The company won't say what it will spend to add four more, but one industry expert estimated the cost at $8 million -- $2 million apiece. The plant employs 100 people. Few new hires are expected with the current expansion, but JVC has long-term plans to more than double its current 100,000 square feet of space and hire another 200 employees. Those plans have yet to be approved and no date has been set for expansion on JVC's 20-acre site.

The plant makes about 3 million discs a month, about 600,000 of them DVDs. The new lines should boost output to about 5 million discs a month. "

BTW, these American City Business Journals are great sources for info which is underneath the radar of the mainstream national media.
